Bouncy house!

Hmmm, Tommy looks pensive.  He is, no doubt, thinking of new ways to keep mommy up all night.
Despite the fact that he's almost ONE, he continues to wake up, wailing, at least once or twice per night.  Thankfully a bottle of milk puts him right back to sleep, but it's killing me.  Eleven months of not sleeping through the night is starting to take its toll on this old broad.  And, yes, we've tried letting him cry it out.  That worked with Dani and Tori.  For Tommy, it's just a challenge, and one that he is ready to win.  So, I do what gets me back to sleep the quickest--which is feed him.  If juggling knives were faster, I would enroll in circus school to learn how to do it.

We had a special delivery yesterday--I bought an indoor bouncy ring. I don't know what really compelled me to do it, but I thought it would be fun to have something the girls can burn some energy in (because it's impossible to take all 3 outside at night). It's like a personal bouncy house.  So, I was just cruising along on amazon.com, and thought that a 6 foot round structure would be a great addition to our playroom.  I was literally cringing at what Big Man's reaction would be when I ordered Saturday delivery and hit "confirm".  Nothing says impulsive like paying for next day shipping.

And despite the fact that it took hours for our air compressor to blow it up, even Big Man seemed to think it was a pretty fun idea.  It's designed to hold two kids, so it's perfect for Dani and Tori.  It's got walls so they can't launch themselves out of it.  And, you can flip it over and it's a fort--it looks like a little smurf house when you flip it.
Tori literally got out of bed this morning saying "bounce".  I just wish it were big enough for me!

Time for a Wayne's World throwback...Scooby Doo ending to my post
And even Old Man McGhee (below) gives it the seal of approval.  "I would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you darn kids," she bellowed.

Summertime, and the livin' is easy.

We've been splashing in pools, and enjoying play dates!
Dressing up for parties.

Eating popsicles to stay cool.

Keeping cool in the pool, and enjoying family time.
And taking cat naps in the sunshine.

The summer is just flying by!
There are so many exciting things going on that I don't stop often enough to post about it.  Professionally, my practice seems to keep presenting me with exciting opportunities.  I've expanded into a second office, and we are growing our Amsterdam location this summer.  Tommy's just a few weeks shy of a year old.  He's walking, running, actually, just trying to keep up with his big sisters. He's still not sleeping through the night--he's up at least once shrieking for some chow--which explains why he's in a 2T... Tori's talking up a storm, with an amazing vocabulary, and can identify all the letters of the alphabet and numbers too--who would have thought she was actually paying attention to us?  She is surprisingly gentle with Tommy, and is such a thoughtful big and little sister--always letting us know if Tommy needs something or asking for a second of what she has so she can share with Dani.  Dani is living up to Big Man's moniker "Bethany junior" in so many ways.

They certainly keep me busy, and entertained, and frustrated, and tired.  And the Big Man, as always he's the rock; the glue that keeps us all together, and makes me happy to wake up every morning.

More Grandma and Grandpa pics!

Real life has been interfering with my blogging lately.  Too many late nights getting ready for trials, I haven't even finished updating pics from my parents' visit!  As usual, the kids had a blast!

Unlike most trips, I actually took some time off so I could enjoy mom and dad's company too.

Beach! (a Dani and Tori guest post)

Hey Tori, wasn't it so cool that Grandma and Grandpa took us to the beach?  I always wanted to go to the beach, ever since I was a little baby.

It sure was, Dani!  It was so much fun!

I was kind of disappointed that there were no coconut trees, though.  Beaches are supposed to have coconut trees.

But it was so neat that we could just walk from the sand into the water.  Instead of on a ladder like our pool.  And the sand was so smushy between my toes.  And there were waves!  They kept pushing me over!
Grandma was really good at making sand castles.  And it was really cool that we had the whole beach to ourselves!

I probably would have been scared if I didn't have Grandpa's hand to hold in the water.  He walked me way out into the deep part!  Even baby Tommy got to go in.

I know, Tori!  I'm usually so scared of getting my face wet, but with Grandpa, I went underwater!  I really did!

Tommy was so cute sitting at the edge of the water kicking his feet.  Too bad mommy didn't go in; she was busy taking pictures of us.
Mommy's ALWAYS taking pictures of us.  I hope we can go back to the beach soon!
