Mother's Day 2014

We started a tradition of going to River Stone Manor for Mother's Day brunch.  Everyone gets dressed up, and there's only one seating so we have the table for the afternoon.  Fancy glasses, and cloth napkins and children on their best behavior.
It's always lovely.
I woke to presents, and kisses.
At school, Dani had made a vase and planted a seedling, that, after two days in a brown bag, was wilted and yellow.  But it was beautiful, sunny day, and with a little water and some sun, it perked up, and the kids have been able to watch it grow daily.
Even our little caveman managed his own full size silverware with no messes!
After we ate, we walked the grounds.  We took this same picture last year.  I hope to take the same one every year.
Getting everyone to look at the camera is generally impossible.
We managed it for this one!
 Look at her.
This one's my favorite.  Walking side by side.
Some days, I just look around, take a deep breath, and give silent thanks for the love of an amazing husband and three little sweeties.

Fun lunch.

Here's an easy, fun lunch idea, that my kids love! Slice a hot dog into quarters. Poke 5-7 strands of uncooked spaghetti through the length of the hot dog; boil per the pasta instructions. You end up with an octopus-like hot dog piece that they can eat with their hands. Serve with veggie sides and dip (if your kids need dip/ketchup) and enjoy a fun lunch!

Just call me Martha.

(Stewart, that is.) We went to Eagle Mills, had some warm cider and donuts, and bought some apples. Then, my domestic gene kicked in and I baked this. And yes, I used a cookie cutter to cut out dough hearts for the top. I really did read that in Martha Stewart Living, but it looked a little nicer in the magazine.
Dani was too little to do much there, but she tried some donut and cider, and just enjoyed the pretty fall weather.I'm feeling much better. And a shout out to the Target pharmacy. I filled my antibiotic prescription there, and it was the first time I'd ever used their pharmacy. Today the pharmacist called me to confirm that I was feeling better, and to ask if I had questions, and finally to remind me to take all of the antibiotics, even if I feel better. Although I knew all that, it was very nice to get the call from them. I <3 Target!
